New OGI System Measures Rough Diamonds Up to 500 Carats

Press Release: OGI Systems Group, the world's leader in technological solutions for the diamonds industry, will be launching the first innovative portable system for measuring extra large rough diamonds (up to 500 carats) at the upcoming Johannesburg Jewellex Africa 2012 tradeshow.

This SCANOX I500 HD advanced system enables measuring, inclusion mapping and planning the optimal rough stones with maximum accuracy. This system can be connected to a laptop and used in tenders or while away from the office on the road.

Development of this Scanox i500 HD system took several years and was done in cooperation with world leading tender companies. During the development process, innovative technologies were embedded into the system. This include a high resolution digital camera for most accurate mapping of the smallest visible inclusions as well as an advanced algorithms for automatic analysis of different cut grades, shapes, clarity grades and inclusions' positions, for maximum profit.

According to OGI Group's marketing vice president,  Lior Modlin, this Scanox I500 HD system constitutes a breakthrough in its ability to increase the diamond merchant's confidence when planning or manufacturing extra-large rough diamonds.
