RAPAPORT... Bonhams has promoted Leslie Roskind to lead its Hong Kong jewelry department, it said Monday.

Roskind, who has been with Bonhams since April 2019, will oversee the procuring and selling of jewelry in the municipality, and will also liaise with the auction house’s global jewelry team on various projects.

“With her international expertise…we look forward to advancing our sourcing and business strategies in Asia,” said Edward Wilkinson, the company’s executive director for Asia.

An industry veteran with over 25 years of auction, retail and wholesale experience, Roskind was previously the company’s senior specialist of jewelry for New York. Prior to that, she worked as director of acquisitions for jeweler Fred Leighton. She also spent 17 years at Christie’s in its New York, Los Angeles and Geneva offices.

“[Roskind] has a passion for the jewelry business, and her international experience will bring additional strength and expertise in this key growth market,” added Jean Ghika, global head of jewelry for Bonhams.

Roskind will begin her new position on October 12.
