RAPAPORT... Jewelers of America (JA) will present a posthumous honor to industry leader Steven Kaiser at its next GEM Awards.

Kaiser, who died in May of this year, will receive JA’s Award for Lifetime Achievement at the event at New York’s Cipriani 42nd Street on March 17, 2023, the organization said Wednesday. He was president and CEO for the US at the Kennedy watch group and chaired the Jewelers’ Security Alliance (JSA). He was also chairman emeritus of the GEM Awards Committee until his death.

“There is no greater honor than being able to give the GEM Award for Lifetime Achievement to Steven Kaiser,” said JA president and CEO David Bonaparte. “Steven was an industry icon who never stopped supporting trade organizations, watch companies and the individuals who shape them.”

JA will announce other GEM Award categories and nominees in the coming weeks, it said.
