RAPAPORT... Entrepreneur and TV personality Bill Rancic, best known as the initial winner of NBC's "The Apprentice," will partner with Timex when he competes in the 2013 ING New York City Marathon on Sunday, November 3. The watch company's Timex Multisport Team athlete, Chris Thomas, a top amateur triathlete, will help train Rancic as he uses The Timex Ironman Run Trainer 2.0 GPS watch during the process.

Rancic will also raise money for Fab-U-Wish, a charity that his wife, Giuliana, started that grants wishes to women fighting breast and ovarian cancer. He will be the last person to begin the race and for every runner he leaves behind on the route, Timex will donate $1. Timex is the official timing sponsor and the Trusted Training Partner of the  Marathon. The brand also partnered with former New York Giants wide receiver Amani Toomer in 2010 and softball player Jennie Finch in 2011.

"Over the past few years, we have seen the Rancic's show strength and character in the face of adversity," said Gary Cohen, the president of Timex Group.  "We are excited to support Bill, a long-time member of the running community, and, in turn, help him raise money for an incredible cause."

Fans can follow Rancic's progress and view his GPS training logs on the Timex Sports Facebook page and on Twitter @TimexSports and @BillRancic. Founded in 1854, Timex Group designs, manufactures and sells timepieces and jewelry globally.
