Press Release: The Swiss watch manufacturer Carl F. Bucherer launches its own Tourbillon with an exclusive limited edition of 188 pieces – the Manero Tourbillon limited edition 2015. With a new satin-brushed dial in a velvety brown color, the Manero Tourbillon shines in unique splendor – a masterpiece of the watchmaking craft.

Since its development at the end of the 18th century, the tourbillon stands as the supreme discipline and greatest challenge of the art of watchmaking. The complication was designed to compensate for the errors in accuracy in mechanical watches caused by gravity. The gravitational effect of various positions of a watch on the wrist impact how quickly or slowly the balance wheel moves. To minimize these effects, the balance has been placed in a specially designed, rotating cage. This device enables the balance and inhibition to revolve around themselves, making them independent of the position of the watch. Carl F. Bucherer has united this exceptional complication with the classic elegance of Manero and created a tourbillon with its own manufacture movement.   watches

The Tourbillon in all its Elegance

The Manero Tourbillon impresses with elegance and technical finesse. A circular cutout in the dial at 6 o'clock offers a view onto the fascinating moving heart of the tourbillon. The date is shown with a third hand. The numbers change position at 3 and 9 o'clock, allowing comfortable reading. The in-house manufacture movement CFB T1001 enables an average 70 hour power reserve. The remaining energy is displayed on the power reserve indicator at the 9 o'clock position. The superior dial is complemented by a 24 hour display at 12 o'clock.

The traditional complexity of the tourbillon takes on a contemporary interpretation with the concisely positioned wedge-shaped index hour markers, the bold writing and digits typical for Carl F. Bucherer and the tapered hour and minute hands. This elegance is skillfully carried through with a luxurious housing made of fine rose gold and, for the first time, with a satin-brushed dial in a velvety brown color, especially created for Carl F. Bucherer. This glamorous combination is complemented by can exquisite brown alligator leather strap and a clasp in rose gold.

Exclusive Creation

The Manero Tourbillon was presented for the first time at Baselworld 2015 and is available worldwide in a limited edition of only 188 pieces.

Carl F. Bucherer has accomplished the supreme discipline in the art of watchmaking with the Manero Tourbillon Limited Edition and created a sophisticated expressive timepiece for enthusiasts and connoisseurs.

About Carl F. Bucherer:
The name Carl F. Bucherer has been synonymous with quality, innovation and passion since 1888. Founded in Lucerne, this modest Swiss family business has grown into the internationally renowned Bucherer brand with its own worldwide chain of stores. The Bucherer Group remains family-run today and is currently in its third generation, managed by the owner and chairman of the board,  Jörg G. Bucherer. In homage to founder Carl Friedrich Bucherer, the manufacturing brand of the same name was repositioned in 2001. Watches and their movements are developed and manufactured in the company’s own workshops in Switzerland. The breakthrough innovation was the manufacturer’s own CFB A1000 movement, which is driven by an external rotor. Bold design and technically sophisticated inner workings are the hallmarks of Carl F. Bucherer watches, which show more than just the time.
