RAPAPORT... Bonhams has appointed Tim Bourne (pictured) as international director of watches for Asia, where he will begin work at the end of February, the auction house said last week.

Bourne’s “track record of success and proven business acumen will help us establish and build our presence among watch collectors in southeast Asia and the Far East,” said Matthew Girling, global CEO for Bonhams.

The industry veteran has more than 20 years of experience. He was previously worldwide head of watches at Sotheby’s, and international co-head of Christie’s watch department.

Bourne is the first watch-department director for Asia at Bonhams since Nick Biebuyck left to join Christie’s in April 2016. He will be based at the company’s Hong Kong office.
