RAPAPORT... Sarah Kuijlaars will take over as chief financial officer of De Beers on September 1, succeeding Nimesh Patel, the miner announced Wednesday. She will also join the company’s board and executive committee.

Kuijlaars was previously CFO of Arcadis, a global consultancy on design and engineering headquartered in the Netherlands. Before that, she was deputy CFO at Rolls Royce Holdings, and held senior roles in financial leadership during a 25-year career at Royal Dutch Shell.

“Sarah is a proven leader, and has a strong track record built with a number of world-class multinational businesses,” said De Beers CEO Bruce Cleaver.

Patel will leave the company on July 26 to become CFO and executive director at UK-based Spirax-Sarco Engineering. He had held the De Beers position since 2016, having joined from parent company Anglo American, where he was group head of corporate finance.
