RAPAPORT... De Beers Jewellers has appointed Céline Assimon as CEO, succeeding François Delage, who will step down after 10 years in the role.

Assimon, who was most recently CEO of Swiss luxury jeweler De Grisogono, also held executive positions at jewelry brand Piaget and in the jewelry division of Louis Vuitton. She has extensive experience in marketing, sales and merchandising of high-end jewelry and luxury products, De Beers said Monday.

“[Céline will lead] the business into its next phase of growth,” noted Stephen Lussier, chairman of De Beers Jewellers and executive vice president for consumer and brands, at De Beers. “As consumers increasingly seek out high-quality and distinctive jewelry from leading luxury brands there is a great opportunity ahead, and Céline’s creative vision and outstanding expertise make her the ideal choice to help us capture it.”

Assimon will join the company on September 1.
