Kerri Halpern, owner of Madstone, has always embraced her dark side: from an all-black uniform to living above a cemetery, she loves skulls, super heroes, cowboys and rock and roll. A self-described minimalist with a substantial background in fashion and art, Halpern designs for women like her — who aren’t interested in romantic, Edwardian- or Victorian-inspired jewelry. Her first collections are wild, wearable and distinctly her -- named after her favorite cocktails (Bubble), textures (Tufted) and collectables (MadAnimals). Halpern details the natural elements that flow into her latest creation, Mythology, at Couture 2013.
