Press Release: Kiran Gems, the world's largest manufacturer of white diamonds, has been recognized as the largest exporter of cut and polished diamonds for India's fiscal year 2013. This is sixth year in a row that Kiran has been awarded this most coveted position of the industry. The award is given by the Gems & Jewellery Export Promotion Council (GJEPC), after conducting a rigorous screening and selection process. Mavji Patel, the managing director of Kiran Gems, said, “It is a proud moment for Kiran that it has won the award for sixth year in a row. In other terms our products are bought more and more by our global customers for its quality, quantity and consistency. Kiran Gems was recognized for demonstrating excellent export performance, through great export numbers, reaching new markets, product and technology innovation, staff engagement, customer relationship management (CRM) and business sustainability initiatives. The selection criteria and process this time went beyond fiscal numbers; hence, the competing companies had to show their additional performances in various other parameters in order to secure a podium finish. Earlier this year, Kiran was also awarded by JNA in the category- Outstanding Enterprise of the Year for India. Today, Kiran operates with more than 140 manufacturing units, 31,000 trained and dedicated professionals, cutting and polishing approximately 5.6 million carats of rough diamonds annually and selling globally to more than 1,000 delighted customers through its offices in Mumbai, Hong Kong, Shanghai, Antwerp, Dubai and New York.
