RAPAPORT... Birks in Canada is featuring a collection of 60 yellow diamond jewelry pieces at its Toronto location, Birks on Bloor, from May 2 to 6. Among the collection, which the retailer values at $10 million, Birks will showcase  a rare 15-carat, internally flawless, fancy intense yellow diamond, which is set in platinum and with trapezoid diamond on either side. It is distinguished by its elegant radiant-cut outline and its fantastic color.

"Yellow diamonds are some of the world's most beautiful fancy color diamonds and have been the choice of royals and celebs throughout the ages," said Jean-Christophe Bedos, the president of Birks & Mayors Inc. "We are delighted to be offering this collection of outstanding diamonds to our clients, one so large it is making Birks history," he concluded.

In April, Birks showcased a 10-carat, fancy light purpleish pink diamond at its Edmonton store. Birks & Mayors owns 58 jewelry stores in Canada and the U.S. with 31 stores under the Birks brand and 24 stores under the Mayors brand. Two retail locations in Calgary and Vancouver operate under the Brinkhaus brand, and one retail location in Orlando, Florida is under the Rolex brand.
