RAPAPORT... The International Gemological Institute (IGI) hosted its buyer-seller knowledge meeting, called the IGI D-Show, at Jaipur’s Fairmont Hotel from June 13 to 15 to bring together regional manufacturers and retailers.  The vision of IGI’s D-Show is to holistically boost gemstone trading through an educational communication platform that allows retailers to interact directly with manufacturers. IGI has held D-Shows  in Hyderabad, Delhi, Kolkata and Bangalore.  The workshop also showcased jewelry by from jewelers and diamond manufacturers from all over India and Navrattan Kothari presented the seminar titled, "Synthetic Diamonds – A Challenge & Detection of Non-traditional Treatments on Rubies, Sapphires and Emeralds."

“We at IGI take immense pride in the D-Show, for the particular platform it offers to manufacturers and retailers to come together and discuss business propositions without an external intermediary,” said IGI's India managing director, Tehmasp Printer. “The response from our patrons across India has been outstanding and we are thrilled as the Jaipur event’s success exceeded even our expectations. We look forward to continuing to advance this effort throughout the industry at large.”
