RAPAPORT... Tiffany and Co. veteran Victoria Wirth Reynolds will become the company’s first female chief gemologist, it said Tuesday.

Reynold joined Tiffany in 1987, working in the custom-design department before moving to the diamond office, where she worked as a grader. She held a variety of other positions, before being promoted to vice president of global merchandising for high jewelry in 2017.

As a key spokesperson for the brand, Reynolds will provide diamond and gemological expertise, provenance and craftsmanship details to clients and media. She will also be responsible for product development of high jewelry, and will set the global growth strategy for the category, Tiffany said.

Reynolds will replace Melvyn Kirtley, who is retiring after 30 years with the jeweler. She will assume her new role in April.

“I’m incredibly proud to be Tiffany’s first female gemologist,” Reynolds said. “I’m just one representative of the many passionate and talented women at Tiffany.”
