Hong Kong Pop-Up Store to Showcase Israeli Designers

RAPAPORT... The Israel Export & International Cooperation Institute (IEICI) will open a pop-up store in Hong Kong in late October to showcase the creations of 20 Israeli product designers to East Asian retailers.
The store will feature diamonds and jewelry designed in Israel, along with a wide variety of consumer goods. Some 20 designers will be chosen by a team of design and branding experts from Hong Kong together with IEICI and Israel’s Commercial Attaché in Hong Kong.
The pop-up store initiative, will be located in the city’s PMQ site, home to almost 100 creative and design-based enterprises. The pop-up store will cover 430 square feet (40 square meters) and operate this year between October 22 and November 22. The store will serve as product showcase, with intention of increasing online purchases of products made by Israeli designers. No sales will take place at the store.
“This is the first time that IEICI and the Commercial Attaché are opening a pop-up store to promote Israeli designed products," said Elad Goz, head of the Economic & Trade Mission at the Israeli consulate in Hong Kong. "This is a new initiative to promote young Israeli designers to the wider world and build the Israel brand name in the global design marketplace."
"Israeli design is known abroad for being innovative and avant garde, but many local designers find it difficult to reach potential clients abroad,” said Eyal Levy, manager of home and family products at IEICI. "The opening of a pop-up store will help generate exposure for Israeli designers among potential clients and boost future exports from Israel."
