Luk Fook opened its second outlet in New York targeting the city’s large Chinese community.

The store is located at New World Mall in Flushing, Queens, one of the largest indoor Asian shopping complexes in the northeastern region of the U.S., the Hong Kong-based jeweler said. The retailer’s existing store is in Manhattan.

“With the opening of the second shop in New York, the group anticipates to further penetrate into the Chinese communities in the overseas market,” said Wong Wai Sheung, Luk Fook’s chairman and chief executive officer.

The Chinese population of New York City is estimated at almost 575,000, according to the U.S. Census Bureau’s 2015 American Community Survey. Flushing has one of New York’s largest Chinese communities.

Luk Fook has had a presence in North America since 2003, with stores in the U.S. and Canada. The group has more than 1,460 outlets in eight countries and regions.
