RAPAPORT... The Antwerp World Diamond Centre (AWDC) has appointed Nishit (Bali) Parikh president, a position he held from 2010
to 2012, its board said last week.
Parikh (pictured), the CEO of Diarough, will replace
outgoing president Stéphane Fischler, who is stepping down as AWDC head to take on the global role of president at the World
Diamond Council (WDC). Fischler has served as president of the AWDC since 2012.
“Continuity, stability and a formidable personality are all
essential elements in the diamond trade, and Bali...embodies all these
qualities,” said AWDC CEO Ari Epstein. “[We] have every confidence he will be a
strong leader.”
The AWDC board also appointed Freddy
Inzlicht as vice president representing the bourses, and Samir Mehta as vice
president representing the trade.
