RAPAPORT... Gem Diamonds has recovered a 114-carat yellow diamond at its Letšeng mine in Lesotho, the fourth of that color above 100 carats this year.

The miner found the type I stone on Monday, a week after unearthing a 93.5-carat, high-quality white stone. Two weeks ago, Gem Diamonds recovered two stones weighing more than 100 carats from the deposit. The miner also found a similar-sized yellow diamond at the site in August.

The discovery is the 11th diamond over 100 carats this year from the mine, which is known for its large, high-quality stones. In 2018, Gem Diamonds retrieved 15 diamonds of that magnitude from Letšeng.
