RAPAPORT... The board of the Jewelers’ Security Alliance (JSA) elected Rolex Watch U.S.A.’s chief executive officer Stewart Wicht as its chairperson for a three-year term.

Wicht’s election was announced at a JSA annual luncheon in New York on January 9, according to a statement January 12. He replaces Adam Heyman, who also served three years.

“During the five years he has served on the JSA board, Stewart has been incredibly generous of his time, interest and support of JSA,” said John Kennedy, president of the JSA. “He has a hands-on concern for the safety and security of the industry, and especially for the firms that are official Rolex jewelers.”

Kevin Valentine, a senior vice president of audit, loss prevention and risk management at Signet Jewelers, was also elected to the JSA board.

The following board members were re-elected for three-year terms: Patti Geolat of Geolat Companies; Steven Kaiser of Kaiser Time; Mark Smelzer of JCK; David Tearle of the Gemological Institute of America.

The following will continue in existing terms: David Bonaparte of Jewelers of America; Marc Green of Lux Bond & Green; Mark Udell of London Jewelers; David Cornstein of Circa; Adam Heyman of Oscar Heyman & Brothers; Alan Kleinberg of Eloquence; Sheldon Kwiat of Kwiat; David Sexton of Jewelers Mutual.
