Sarine Technologies has started enabling manufacturers to carry out automated diamond grading on-site using artificial intelligence (AI).

The company has launched its e-Grading product for an “expanded number” of cutting firms, it said Monday.

The Israeli producer of equipment for the diamond industry unveiled its plans for in-house grading in March 2020 and began testing it with selected manufacturers.

“With the rollout of e-Grading, initially in the manufacturing segment, Sarine brings AI-based grading to the source, providing multiple benefits and making for a more efficient, shortened and cost-effective supply chain,” said CEO David Block.

Sarine is also launching a second-generation version of its automated clarity-grading technology and an updated edition of its automated color-grading system, management said.
