Martin Rapaport, Chairman of the Rapaport Group began his annual "State of the Diamond
Industry" presentation at 8:30. His address was focused on the primary forces impacting
the diamond markets and included analysis of the global economy, the globalization
of diamond supply and demand, social demographic branding, and the outlook for diamond
prices over the next decade.

The Diamond Certification Round Table discussed the growing market for laboratory
graded diamonds and the role that grading reports and certificates play improving
consumer confidence and driving price competition. Grading standards and the reliability
of reports was on the agenda.

Jewelry Conference
2:00 PM - 4:00 PM
The Rapaport Fair Trade Jewelry Conference included a panel discussion and open
debate about the rapidly expanding market for socially responsible jewelry. Also
discussed was how you can make the world a better place, add value and grow your
customer base by sourcing, creating and selling fair trade and ethical jewelry to
the socially conscious consumer.
