RAPAPORT... Christie’s has procured the Belle Époque diamond tiara that
belonged to the crown princess of Yugoslavia to sell at its London summer auction on June
13.
The platinum headpiece, which dates back to 1905, is from
the collection of the princes of Orléans Braganza and features old pear-shaped
and rose-cut diamonds, the auction house said. It carries an estimate of
$186,900 to $280,350.
Other notable lots include a Cartier ring featuring a
cushion-shaped, 7.10-carat, royal blue Kashmir sapphire surrounded by diamonds,
with a pre-auction estimate of $600,750 to $867,750, and a 4.44-carat
cushion-shaped Burmese ruby and diamond ring with an estimated price of
$293,700 to $373,800.
The Important Jewels event will also include a late 19th-century
emerald and diamond tiara, as well as pieces from Belperron, Van Cleef &
Arpels, and David Webb.
