RAPAPORT... Former Signet Jewelers president Seb Hobbs will serve as interim managing director of the company’s UK business for the next month.

Hobbs, who has been with the jewelry retailer for more than eight years, began his term at Signet in the UK. He was promoted to president in January 2017, and transferred to the US. He stood down in April, and will return to the UK to head operations there until June 30. He will then leave the company as previously announced, Signet told Rapaport News Tuesday.

Hobbs was managing director of the UK business until January 2017. Upon his move to the US, Emma Hayward took over as store-operations director.

Signet’s UK banners include H. Samuel and Ernest Jones, each of which accounted for 5% of its global sales last year. Aside from the US and the UK, the company also has operations in Canada.
