RAPAPORT... Phillips has pushed back the date of its Hong Kong Jewels and Jadeite sale due to restrictions arising from the COVID-19 pandemic.

The auction was slated for the week of May 31 to June 2 along with a number of other spring sales, including its Hong Kong watch auction, Phillips said Monday. Those events are now scheduled to take place the week of July 5.

“As we navigate through these difficult times together, we have taken into consideration the relevant advice from government and health authorities, the requirements of our clients, and operational feasibility in announcing plans for future auctions,” said Phillips deputy chairman Jonathan Crockett. “Our experienced team of specialists remains committed to working with our collecting community to find suitable solutions in building successful sales across all channels.”

The company is also planning to create a series of themed, cross-category online sales throughout April and May, including an online Hong Kong auction, it added.
