The Rapaport International Diamond Conference (IDC), first held in 2004, is a leading
annual summit for the diamond and jewelry industry.
IDC provides a platform for key players to discuss strategies and trends relating
to the future of the diamond and jewelry trade. The 2012 Rapaport International
Diamond Conference was held in Mumbai, India, attracting influential speakers such
as Mr. Mehul Choksi, Chairman of the Gitanjali Group; Mr. Matt Hall, Director of
the Gemological Institute of America (GIA) and Mr. Vikram Merchant, Manager of Rio
Tinto India, amongst others.
In 2012, the conference hosted five hundred participants and a variety of media
professionals. Independent speakers and panel discussions touched upon topics such
as diamond prices and diamond investments, as well as the role of branding in the
diamond and jewelry industry.
In 2013, the Rapaport International Diamond Conference addressed the changes and
difficulties facing the diamond and jewelry trade in India and beyond.
