RAPAPORT... The Mid East Watch & Jewellery Show attracted a record 53,340 visitors, according to organizers, representing a 6 percent increase from one year ago. This five-day show, which takes place twice a year, concluded April 9, 2011. The number of visitors at the annual fall edition of this show topped 57,000 this past September.
Exhibitor Kapil Jain of Su-raj Inter Gold was quoted by organizers saying that sales of diamonds and jewelry exceeded expectations. Exhibitor Damiano Damianicos added that sales were strong from buyers out of Saudi Arabia, Bahrain, Kuwait and Oman.
Show organizers have not yet announced dates for their next expo.
