Graff's Wealth Jumps; Forbes' Rank Drops for Oppenheimer, Steinmetz, Leviev
Billionaires' Aggregate Net Worth +17% to $5.4 Trillion

The annual Forbes list of billionaires boasted 1,426 names this year with an aggregate net worth up 17 percent year on year to $5.4 trillion. The U.S. led the roll call with 442 billionaires, followed by the Asia-Pacific region with 386, Europe with 366, the Americas with 129 and the Middle East and Africa at 103.
Of the top major players who impact the diamond industry in one way or another, Warren Buffett, the chairman of Berkshire Hathaway, was No. 4 with a net worth of $53.5 billion and Bernard Arnault, the chairman of LVMH, was No. 10 with a net worth of $29 billion. Walton family members, of Walmart fame, came in 11th, 14th, 16th and 17th place in the top 100, as well as other spots within the top 500.
Amazon's founder, Jeff Bezos was No. 19 with a net worth of $25.2 billion.
PPR's chairman, Francois Pinault, and his family were at No. 53 with a net worth of $15 billion; Patrizio Bertelli was No. 175 with a net worth $6.7 billion and Johann Rupert and family were ranked at No. 179 with a net worth of $6.6 billion.
Nicky Oppenheimer and family fell to No. 182 from No. 136 in 2012, and their net worth dropped $300 million to $6.5 billion, according to the Forbes list.
Laurence Graff, however, increased his standing on the list, rising 160 spots to No. 299 with a net worth of $4.3 billion from only $2.6 billion one year ago.
Beny Steinmetz dropped to No. 316 from No. 162, and his net worth fell to $4.1 billion from $5.9 billion the previous year. Internet retailer Jack Ma was at No. 395 with a net worth of $3.4 billion. Lev Leviev fell to No. 974 from No. 764 in 2012 and his net worth fell by $200 million to $1.5 billion, according to Forbes.
