RAPAPORT... Andrew Bone will step down as executive director of the Responsible Jewellery Council (RJC), the organization said Tuesday.

Bone has led the RJC since 2015, during which time the organization's membership doubled, the group noted. He previously had an extensive tenure at De Beers, during which he was actively involved in industry initiatives such as the Kimberley Process Certification Scheme, the Diamond Development Initiative and the World Diamond Council.

“It has been a pleasure and a rare privilege to have served this unique organization as executive director,” said Bone. “We have undertaken the review of our standards and laid the ground for the inclusion of colored gems and silver. In addition, we have grown the management team and provided them with the resources to build on past success as we look ahead to a successful future.”

Bone will continue to lead the RJC until the end of March. The organization is conducting a search for his replacement.
