Tango Sells Diamond for Nearly $8K/ct.

RAPAPORT... Tango Mining sold a 5.28-carat rough diamond for $7,730 per carat, boosting sales from its Oena project in South Africa. 

The diamond was one of 190 stones totaling 333.25 carats, which the miner sold at a tender at the Kimberley Diamond Exchange in the third quarter ending May 31. The miner achieved an overall average price of $1,198 per carat for rough at the sale.

The miner also sold three stones weighing a combined 34.45 carats from its African Star Minerals project, including a 29.31-carat diamond, which garnered $3,224 per carat.

In addition, Tango is conducting trial mining in Angola and is carrying out an exploration project in Liberia.
