Howe to Become Ninth Board Member for Blue Nile

RAPAPORT... Blue Nile Inc. appointed Scott Howe to its board of directors, effective  January 1, 2014. Howe will be the ninth director on the board and is the CEO and president of Acxiom Corporation, an enterprise data, analytics and software-as-a-service company. Blue Nile stated that Howe drives a results-oriented culture for Acxiom's approximately 6,200 associates as the company deepens and expands its offerings.

Prior to his current role,  Howe served as corporate vice president of Microsoft's advertising business groups division, where he managed a multibillion dollar business encompassing all emerging businesses related to online advertising, including search, display, in-game, mobile, digital cable and a variety of enterprise software applications.

"Scott's world-class corporate experience, online marketing prowess, and big data know-how is a perfect fit for Blue Nile as we continue to build our global brand," said Harvey Kanter, Blue Nile's CEO.

Howe also serves on the board of directors for the Center for Medical Weight Loss and is a former director of the Internet Advertising Bureau (IAB) and Turn Inc., a digital advertising company. Howe has a bachelor's degree in economics from Princeton University and received an MBA from Harvard University in 1994.
