RAPAPORT... Andre Messika Ltd. will receive Israel's exceptional exporters award for 2012. The company, which was recently ranked in sixth place on Israel's list of top 20 exporters for 2013, will receive the award in the presence of Israel's president, Shimon Peres, and the country's minister of trade, Naftali Bennett, at a ceremony on February 4.
According to Israel's ministry of trade and industry, the company is receiving the award for exporting $100 million worth of diamonds to international markets, including France, U.S., U.K, China and India in 2012, a year characterized as a downturn for the industry.
"In this way Andre Messika was not only representing the company in Israel, but also serving as an Israeli ambassador and representing the domestic industry abroad," the ministry stated.
Andre Messika was founded in 1972 in Paris. The company relocated its head office to Israel in 2003 and it operates from the country's diamond bourse in Ramat Gan.
