Bonhams Adds Four Specialists to Strengthen Its Jewelry Division

RAPAPORT...   Bonhams confirmed four new appointments to its jewelry division in Los Angeles, New York, Geneva and Hong Kong. 
 
Dana L. Ehrman, a graduate gemologist, joined Bonhams in the U.S. as a director of fine jewelry in Los Angeles, where she will be based. Ehrman grew up in a family jewelry business and has more than three decades of  experience in fine jewelry, Bonhams stated. Ehrman will be responsible for acquiring property, appraising all levels of jewelry and working closely with the jewelry teams in New York, San Francisco, London and Hong Kong in order to promote, support and develop existing and emerging auctions. 

In November, Bonhams hired Caroline Bostock as its senior specialist in the jewelry department at the company's  U.S. headquarters in New York. Bostock has more than 15 years experience in the diamond and jewelry trade with her specialty being  diamonds and colored gemstones.

In Europe, Claire-Laurence Mestrallet, a graduate gemologist, joined  Bonhams as specialist within the international jewelry team based in Geneva. Mestrallet will be responsible for showcasing jewelry in Bonhams’ forthcoming sales, as well as assessing items for potential future auctions in France, Germany and Austria. 

Bonhams Hong Kong hired  Ellen Sin, a graduate gemologist, as the director of jewelry and jadeite. Sin began her career working for a diamond dealer in Hong Kong prior to working for an auction house as a jewelry specialist. She has also worked as an independent jewelry consultant and at Van Cleef & Arpels in Monaco.

Matthew Girling, the joint global CEO and global head of jewelry, explained, “I am delighted to further enhance our experienced team of jewelry experts across the world.  Each of these new specialists will play a critical role in our global jewelry offering as we continue to build a world-class jewelry team focused on delivering an unparalleled customer experience to our clients new and old.”
