RAPAPORT... Gem Diamonds has recovered a diamond weighing 127 carats from its Letšeng mine in Lesotho.

The miner found the D-color, type II stone on September 11, it said Monday. The diamond is the fourth white stone of that magnitude, and the seventh over 100 carats Gem Diamonds has retrieved this year.

The miner recovered a 114.2-carat yellow diamond from the deposit in August, as well as a 135- and 134-carat yellow earlier this year. Three white stones, weighing 123.5, 140 and 161 carats, were also unearthed between March and July.

Last year the miner, known for its recovery of large stones, discovered 15 diamonds over 100 carats.
