Kalyan Jewellers Expands Retail Network

RAPAPORT... Kalyan Jewellers opened a showroom in Vadodara, expanding its retail presence in India’s western state of Gujarat. After Ahmedabad and Rajkot, this is Kalyan’s third showroom in the state.
“The launch of our store in Vadodara underlines the importance of this dynamic market,” said T.S. Kalyanaraman, the managing director of Kalyan Jewellers. “This launch is aimed at expanding the shopping horizon of the people in the city, while providing a greater level of choice, convenience and satisfaction.”
The new showroom, which was recently inaugurated by Bollywood actress Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, covers 15,000 square feet of space. Bachchan is also the national brand ambassador of Kalyan Jewellers.
Kalyan operates 44 retail chains and is looking at opening six more showrooms during this financial year, which ends on March 31, 2013. It plans to open stores in Surat, Mumbai and Pune. The jewelry retailer aims to have 100 stores across India by 2015.
