FinCEN Enables Industry to Share Information

RAPAPORT... The Financial Crimes Enforcement Network (FinCEN) created a fact sheet on section 314(b) of the USA PATRIOT Act that provides financial institutions, including those dealing in precious metals and gems, the ability to share information with one another.

The guides fall under a safe harbor that offers protection from liability in order to better identify and report potential money laundering or terrorist activities.
