RAPAPORT... DiamondCorp's Lace underground diamond mine is on track to begin production in the second half of 2015. The company reported that development work in the upper K4 (UK4) block remains on track with mining operations set to begin four months ahead of schedule.
Lace's underground conveyor system is 91 percent completed onsite, 51 percent installed and on schedule for commissioning ahead of the mining ramp-up.
The company also recovered a 19.83-carat, clear white diamond from UK4. The diamond is the largest diamond recovered so far from the underground mine.
