RAPAPORT... Israel’s Get Diamonds has signed an agreement to sell stones directly to the Chinese jewelry market, the company said this week.

Get Diamonds, the e-commerce platform of the Israel Diamond Institute (IDI), will partner with Rock & Trade, an Israel-based company that provides a loose-diamond platform specifically for Chinese jewelers and suppliers. Get Diamonds is a website that enables Israeli traders to upload their goods, making them available to buyers around the world.

“Get Diamonds is an extremely powerful tool in growing Israel’s diamond trade,” said IDI chairman Boaz Moldawsky. “This partnership will enable us to trade directly with Chinese jewelers easily and efficiently, and in their own language.”

China is one of Israel’s leading markets, and the agreement will help the trade reach those customers, Moldawsky said.

In January, the Israel Diamond Exchange (IDE) announced a partnership with e-commerce giant Alibaba, which will enable traders to sell goods online to businesses and consumers in global markets.
