J.C. Penney (-36%) and Macy’s (-3.8%) fell after reporting weak holiday sales, while Signet (+12%) gained following better-than-expected results for the season. Chow Tai Fook (+6%) rose after a strong third quarter at its China stores. Miners had a good week, with Gem Diamonds (+9%), Lucara (+6%), Firestone (+6%) and Alrosa (+3.1%) all climbing.
