U.S. Jewelry Store Sales Rise in November

RAPAPORT... U.S. specialty jewelry store sales rose 3.6 percent year on year to $2.6 billion in November, according to provisional figures from the U.S. Census Bureau.

Last month Rapaport News reported that sales of jewelry and watches across all channels – incorporating jewelry stores and other outlets – increased an estimated 3.3 percent over the same period.

Specialty jewelry store sales in the first 11 months of 2015 fell 1 percent year on year to $24.69 billion. This contrasts with a 1.1-percent advance in jewelry and watch sales across all channels to $60.47 billion, as calculated by Rapaport News.

Total retail and food services sales in the U.S. increased 1.6 percent to $448.58 billion in November, adjusted for seasonal fluctuations.
