RAPAPORT... A 92.15-carat diamond pendant worth up to $20 million will lead Christie’s “Magnificent Jewels” auction in Geneva next month.

The heart-shaped, D-color, flawless diamond is the centerpiece of “La Légende,” a diamond-and-pearl necklace by designer Boehmer et Bassange. The stone is the largest of its shape, color and clarity ever to be put up for auction, according to Christie’s.

Another Boehmer et Bassange piece, a pair of chandelier ear pendants titled “La Vie Bohème,” will also be on offer, with an estimated value of $2 million to $3 million. Each earring consists of an asymmetrical pink-diamond bow, a pear-shaped diamond connecting link, and a marquise-cut, D-color, flawless diamond weighing just over 10 carats, Christie’s said.

Other lots available at the auction, which will feature more than 250 jewels, include an oval-cut, 15.03-carat Burmese ruby set in a ring with diamonds, worth an estimated $10 million to $15 million. There will also be a Chopard necklace with a pear-shaped, 56.03-carat, D-color, internally flawless diamond valued at $5 million to $7 million.

A set of ruby-and-diamond Cartier earrings with matching bracelet from the collection of actress Elizabeth Taylor, which Christie’s put up for auction in 2011, will be part of the upcoming sale as well.

The auction will take place on May 17 at the Four Seasons Hotel des Bergues.
