Tiffany & Co will open small-scale stores in two key New York locations in time for the holiday season, as the luxury jeweler targets tourists to boost lagging sales.

The concept stores will open in Rockefeller Center and Grand Central Terminal, offering selections of jewelry and the retailer’s home and accessories collection. The move expands Tiffany’s presence in the city beyond its Fifth Avenue flagship and its stores on Wall Street and in Soho.

Tiffany is looking to improve its performance for the holiday period, after sales fell 4% in last year’s season due to weaker consumer sentiment and post-election protests outside Trump Tower, which is next to the Fifth Avenue store.

“Tiffany & Co. has long been a destination for visitors from around the world,” said Philippe Galtie, the jeweler’s senior vice president. “With new concept stores at two iconic New York City landmarks, we’re embracing the spirit of gifting this holiday season and beyond.”

Both stores will be in operation for about 12 to 18 months, the company said. The 800-square-foot Rockefeller Center location will open in early November, with the Grand Central Terminal outlet — taking up 1,200 square feet — launching shortly thereafter.
