JA's New York summer show came to a close on July 31 with mixed reviews  on how business faired. While price points under $3,000 seemed most favored by retail buyers, some high-end diamond jewelry designers said their collections and one-of-a-kind pieces sold well, while others in that category reported less interest in luxurious pieces than last year.

In this broadcast take a look at three exhibitors who describe which of their pieces were hot with buyers.

Polly Wales of London uses her skill and passion for sculpture to inspire unique jewelry pieces where she incorporates gemstones  directly cast into gold, creating pieces that resemble natural gem encrusted forms such as sparkling geodes split open.

Jewelry artist Pierre-Yves Paquette of Saint-Sauveur, Quebec, discusses how he uses layers of metal to achieve the final design for his jewelry line of rings and pjewelry designersendants.

Leon Mege of Leon Mege Inc., and of Art of Platinum in New York, exhibited at the show to network, sell some inventory and introduce buyers to his customized services including designing and Diamond Concierge. He also took first prize in the AJDC new talent competition.
