Global retail stocks strengthened after the US Federal Reserve said it would keep interest rates low over the next few years. Luk Fook (+15%), Kering (+7%), Chow Tai Fook (+6%), LVMH (+5%), Signet (+1.7%) and Tiffany (+1.7%) all rose. Macy’s (-8%) was the exception. Mining shares also performed well, with Gem Diamonds (+12%), Petra (+8%), Anglo American (+7%) and Alrosa (+5%) climbing.
