RAPAPORT... Luk Fook has opened its second retail store in San Francisco’s Chinatown, as the Hong Kong-based jeweler continues to target Chinese expats around the world.

The retailer, which has had a presence in North America since 2003, launched the outlet in a ceremony on September 2, it said Thursday. The company has 1,500 stores in nine countries, mainly in Hong Kong and mainland China, as well as several across the Far East and Australia. It also has two stores in New York, one in Toronto and one in Vancouver.

The jeweler has been “well received and supported by overseas Chinese customers,” said Wong Wai Sheung, Luk Fook’s chairman and CEO. The company aims to offer an “unparalleled shopping experience to Chinese customers around the world, and further expand [its] market overseas,” the executive added.
