RAPAPORT... Diamonds Do Good will host a virtual gathering in which key leaders from the diamond and retail sectors will offer insights and perspectives on the future of the natural-diamond industry.

“The world has undergone a seismic change over the last few months,” Diamonds Do Good president Anna Martin said recently. “Learning how global companies in our industry are adapting will bring perspective for all businesses.”

Participants include De Beers CEO Bruce Cleaver, Signet Jewelers CEO Virginia Drosos, Alrosa CEO Sergey Ivanov, Rosy Blue CEO Russell Mehta and Chow Tai Fook managing director Kent Wong. The interactive event, which is scheduled to run live on July 30, will also include opening remarks by Benjamin Chavis, a civil-rights activist and the founder of Diamonds Do Good, as well as a special appearance from magician David Blaine.

The session will be the first in a series of virtual gatherings the organization plans to hold over the coming months, it said.

Diamonds Do Good, previously known as the Diamond Empowerment Fund, helps develop diamond communities and empower local citizens in those areas.
