In this opening session of the annual Rapaport International Diamond Conference, which was held in Mumbai,
P.M. Saleem, the commissioner of customs at Mumbai International Airport remarks on the
future of India's diamond industry, economy and consumer perception of diamonds and jewelry and what the emerging middle and upper income classes means for demand.
Rapaport's Avi Krawitz presents facts and figures relevant to the diamond industry in 2012 in the context of the global economy.
