RAPAPORT... June 6, 2010: We have received urgent and credible information about shipment(s) of Marange diamonds to be imminently dispatched to various destinations without proper documentation and certification. Clear instructions on the proper procedure were posted by the Kimberley Process (KP) chair on the KP's website.
The total amount of goods to be sent should be no less than 600,000 carats (i.e., the equivalent of 120 kilograms).
As these shipments would consist exclusively of Marange diamonds, a comparison of the shipments with the published footprint will permit positive identification.
