RAPAPORT... HRD Antwerp launched the 15th edition of its HRD Awards to celebrate creative and innovative diamond jewelry. The theme of HRD Awards 2013 is ''Trompe l’oeil,'' nothing is what it seems, to prompt designers into exploring a world of deception and illusion, while producing brilliant diamond jewelry pieces that defy the boundaries between image and reality. The deadline to enter is December 15, 2012, selected designers are notified on January 22 and they must submit finished pieces by May 15. The jury will select a winner and four finalists on July 18. The HRD Awards introduce young designers to the international jewelry scene, they are open to all and free of charge. The competition offers a promotional platform that empowers experimenting with diamonds and jewelry design. The winning collection will be exhibited and promoted worldwide during 2013 and 2014 at international jewelry fairs, events and in jewelry galleries. The designer who wins top prize will receive $10,000 and four finalists will receive $2,500 each. The grand finale and award ceremony takes place at the end of 2013. www.hrdawards.com
