The IGI School of Gemology has been instrumental in conducting professional grading courses across India since 1999. The team of instructors at IGI has successfully trained over 10,000 students under international standards.

The students come from various fields -- ranging from recent college graduates and children of diamantaires who are planning to join the business to  freelance designers seeking to upgrade skills.

New students are introduced to the latest trends of designing in the domestic as well as international markets. The portfolios that the students create during their training reflect a mix of ideas taken from nature, history, man-made materials, gemstones, metals etc., thus bringing out the creativity in every student. They have first hand exposure to practical jewelry making, budgeting and gaining an understanding of consumer psychology in shopping for jewelry -- all aspects that give one confidence to face the markets independently.

Printer said, “It has been our objective to provide young professionals with international education and training to equip them with an edge in the marketplace. At IGI School of Gemology we understand the pulse of the industry and, accordingly, impart expertise to every student, adding value to their future careers. I am very happy to present these diplomas to the students who have excelled in the program and are now ready to apply this education in their careers and see the benefits unfold.”

Sweta Ranka, a newly appointed instructor at IGI Delhi, specializes in jewelry design and comes with seven years of rich experience in the  field. After graduating from the Delhi University and gaining knowledge in jewelry design from reputable universities,  has been an active contributor to the jewelry industry and brings to IGI her insights and experience for the  students to benefit.

On this occasion she said, "Being a part of IGI is an opportunity and honor to take education in the field of jewelry designing to a different level. The jewelry design course at IGI is a comprehensive course that provides a platform for its students to channel their creativity. The technical knowledge gained at IGI gives its designers a step forward in the industry. We look forward to seeing our design graduates turn gems into jewels."
