Sarine Technologies has partnered with China’s National Gemstone Testing Center (NGTC) to offer light-performance reports for a leading jewelry supplier in the region.

The co-branded reports for high-end Chinese jewelry designer, manufacturer and wholesaler Yuanyumei (Y&M) follow Sarine’s launch of a collaboration with the NGTC in September last year. Y&M will implement the reports for its Rose D’Amour diamond line, Sarine said Tuesday.

Light performance is an aspect of diamond grading that goes beyond the 4Cs, looking at how light behaves when it interacts with a stone. Sarine and the NGTC said setting “new standards” in light performance would be part of their joint work when they signed their agreement a year ago. However, the introduction of a tangible product took longer than the organizations expected because of the Covid-19 pandemic, Sarine noted.

“Through our cooperation with Sarine and applying its technology, important progress can be made in the diamond consumer market,” said NGTC president ZhiBin Ye. “This launch is an example, and both Y&M’s Rose D′Amour brand and their consumers will experience the benefits of diamond light-performance testing technology for more confident and safer buying.”
