RAPAPORT... The shop of the future will feature online concierge services and allow customers to buy on the web and collect in-store. Retail will work in a whole new way. Are jewelry retailers prepared for this shift?

The key is to listen and respond to what the public wants, according to panelists on the latest episode of Rapaport’s podcast series on technology.

“The end consumer is saying to us, ‘Retail shopping for me has no walls, no ceilings, no screens,’” says Elle Hill, CEO of jewelry consultancy firm Hill & Co., a guest on the show. “It’s wherever I am. It’s in the bath holding my mobile phone, if I want.”

In the fourth installment of the series, sponsored by Sarine Technologies, Hill joins Andrew Brabec, director of marketing and e-commerce at retailer Borsheims, and Paul Schneider, owner of jeweler Twist. Sonia Esther Soltani, Rapaport’s editor in chief, moderates the conversation.

Also on the episode, Leah Meirovich, news reporter at Rapaport, interviews Jade Lee, Chow Tai Fook’s general manager for analytics and technology application.
